In light of Madonna taking over DC this weekend (yes, I had to see her last night), I wanted to discuss how materialism affects our everyday lives.
Apple, as you may already know, has sold 5 million units of the iPhone 5 over its first weekend, actually disappointing some investors who thought it would sell even faster. I have talked to many people about the upcoming iPhone 5 and they claim it is literally the best phone EVER.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the updates to the iPhone 5 are “a variety of new features including a larger screen, faster performance and the ability to use next-generation cellphone technology known as LTE.”
Okay, so it’s lighter and bigger. Is it really worth the $500? Couldn’t I better spend this money elsewhere? My phone (which happens to be an Android) works fine, it’s fast, and yeah it’s not an iPhone but Life goes on.
Let me hear your thoughts on this. Why is the next generation of iPhone so appealing? It seems like Apple is just taking advantage of the hype! Let me know what you think below.
Fabulous and Frugal,
